Lab Wing C

Project Scope: The existing metal building housed a shop space for the Building Trades program at the Manchester Community College. This project built a second floor to inlcude offices and classrooms, while keeping the space on the first floor as a workshop for students. This included designing all of the mechanical and electrical systems required for the uses that the College Administration had designated.

Turnstone was responsible as the lead on this Design/Build to prepare pricing while working with the Architects, Engineers and the Subcontractors to ensure that the proposed Design met all of the Build Specifications that had been presented in the Bid Package from the State. This project had been traditionally bid twice and was over budget each time prior to the proposal from Turnstone. The Design/Build Team was able to value engineer systems and products without compromising the completed product.

The project schedule had significant milestones that it needed to meet to ensure students were in the classrooms for the second semester. Along with being presented with a limited budget, Turnstone and its Design Team were challenged with an extremely aggressive schedule, which was accomplished to meet the Colleges needs.
